how were the elderly shown in this text - stereotypical, some elderly can be up and outgoing but usually you'd see them sitting down doing nothing looking all old and frail.

video 1 - the clip was from the seventies and it was stereotyping what women did, the things they wore, the way they looked. different people would think different things after watching this video as it gives off many different vibes even though it's around the same idea and thing. it showed that masculine was outdoors and feminine were indoors.
video 2 - this was a musical from legally blonde and it honestly was empowering. women are portrayed as not needing a man/boyfriend and doing much better without one. this can be some people in reality and she was so loud and empowering compared to the woman in the first. things haven't changed as much in this one (2000s) compared to the one from the 1970s.
questions;
1. How are adults constructed in this text? Females should be second to males in both texts. The woman in the first text didn't have ambition whereas the second woman did.
2. What kind of social reality does this text portray? Women didn't really have a choice in the first text, their job was to be a housewife and look pretty. The second text showed that women did have a choice, they didn't have a set job, they could chase to be whatever they wanted to be.
3. How does this text construct a version of reality? The clips draw from history and what has been seen on tv, in movies, on magazines/newspaper.
4. What different interpretations of the text are possible? Yes we can, the view changes from men being positive to being put down.
